Ok, as per my first post, Im Julia, a 32 33yr old business graduate and an online marketeer for nearly 15yrs. Im going to be as coy as I possibly can about myself and my personal details (for obvious reasons) but im happy to share with you my experiences of being a domain name investor and online marketeer.
In the past 10 or so years since ive being doing this as a hobby and as an occupation (yes, im that lucky) I have met many nice people (and one or two clowns), Ive been to meetings at Google in mountain view and to see the domain match guys from Yahoo in Los Angeles. Im a member of many many forums, have attended a lot of domain fests (if you excuse the pun) and I own several hundred nice generic domains which make me steady living. Im no Frank Schilling or Kevin Ham and I do develop an awful lot. My entire adult life seems to have been spent black hatting (if theres such a word), staying in touch and on the crest of the ever changing internet ecosystem and looking for the angles.
Ive met a lot of the registrars, most the parking companies, most of the root ad providers and a lot of domainers. I have a lot of opinions and insights, not always correct but always supported with evidence rather than just opinion.
Please hang by here when you can, I promise to be kind and take any comments (good or bad) in good grace.
Are you based in the UK?
What gives you that impression..?
I found your site via domaining.com. Love your domain name and really enjoy your writing style. You’re the first female voice that I’ve come across in the domainersphere. This space needs more women in it; and not just as eye candy at the cocktail parties..
Glad to meet you!
Julia,
I ‘discovered’ this blog only yesterday, so I can’t claim to have read it extensively yet.
Whatever little I’ve read so far, however, leaves me with a lingering, almost distinct impression of British English.
Perhaps Mike has felt the same thing and hence his post above.
post more pictures of yourself please. that little thumbnail picture is hot but leaves your fans longing for more. i will let you smell my magical rick schwartz cologne if you do.
Nice blog… Keep the writings coming:) Good stuff.
Very good blog, Julia.
Question:
On a fundamental level, how does one who’s being effective in their online business efforts gain knowledge about ‘the crest of the ever changing internet ecosystem’?
Sincerely,
Joe Davison
